Ring Groups (Call Groups)

Overview

Ring Groups allow multiple extensions to ring simultaneously when a call is received. This is useful for ensuring calls are answered promptly by any available user within the group.

Configuration

  1. Create Ring Group

    • Navigate to Ring Groups.
    • Select Add Ring Group.
    • Enter a name for the ring group.
  2. Add Members

    • Select the extensions to be included in the ring group.
    • Define the order in which the extensions will ring.
  3. Set Ring Group Options

    • Configure options such as initial recording, music on hold, and timeout settings.

Usage

  • Use ring groups to distribute calls to multiple users, ensuring a higher chance of calls being answered.
  • Configure different ring groups for various departments or teams.

Best Practices

  • Regularly review and update ring group members and settings.
  • Use descriptive names for ring groups to avoid confusion.
